Visual Arts Faculty Summer Accomplishments 2008

SUMMER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Ms. Charmagne Andrews:
Attended the Tugaloo Art Colony at Tugaloo College in Mississippi for a week long art welding workshop. Participants designed and created individual art pieces using oxyacetylene units to cut the metal and then assemble the pieces using an arc welder.


Stephen Cappelli:
Exhibited in the "Exhibition 1000 Pounds of Alabama Clay" at the Artist Gallery at the Alabama State Council on the Arts, this is a two year traveling exhibition
Participated in the Raiford Gallery’s 12th Anniversary Exhibition in Roswell, Georgia


Dr. Christopher Greenman:
Participated in an anagama wood firing at the University of Montevallo
Exhibited work in an international exhibition in Lake Oswego, Oregon titled Painting with Fire: Wood Fired Ceramics”
Exhibited work in a national exhibition in Hamilton, Michigan titles “Artful Drinking”
Participated in the Annual American Artisan Fair in Nashville, Tennessee
Conducted a Raku workshop for high school students at Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery
Exhibited in the Exhibition "1000 Pounds of Alabama Clay" at the Artist Gallery at the Alabama State Council on the Arts, this is a Two Year traveling exhibition


Mr. Kevin Patrick:
Participated in the Summer Kid/Youth College Adventure program at ASU for area youths interested in the various artistic mediums
Recognized as a founding member of the Montgomery Art Consortium and exhibited in its inaugural show at the National Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African American Culture on the ASU Campus
Continued his work on a large mural to be installed at the National Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African American Culture on the ASU Campus


Mr. Cleve Webber:
Exhibited in the National Black Arts Festival at the Mason Muier Gallery in Atlanta Georgia
Exhibited with Junor Gallery in Decatur, Georgia in two different exhibitions, “Journey 11” and “Caribbean American Coalition”

Mrs. Jackie Webber:
Exhibited in two Online Photography shows with the Capitol City Camera Club in Montgomery, Alabama, one she received a First Place Award
Exhibited with the Capitol City Camera Club in their Print show in Montgomery, Alabama
Designated Photographer for a Formula One Car Race in Jamaica West Indies
